Geophysical studies in the Taknar copper mines
Taknar copper mines are located 30 Km away from the NW of Bardeskan county in the Khorasan Province. These mines that were exploited 30 years ago, are old ancient mines including Tak-I, Tak-II and Tak-III. They have tunnels and evidences of old mining. Based on a contract, complementary geophysical exploration of Taknar Copper mines was assigned to the Toseye Oloom-e Zamin Co. The geophysical survey was conducted at 1998. the area has high reliefs with diverse lithology. Mineralization has occurred in the andesitic and basaltic lavas, tuff and shales of Precambrian. Available alterations include chloritic, epidotic and phyllitic. Mineralized zones involve veins and fractures within a quartz porphyry body. Precambrian granites expose in the Tak-II. The area was studied by IP method to achieve information about the depth and extension of mineralization and determine the locus of drilling program. The result of the geophysical survey is presented in the report.
