Mineral potentials of the 1:100000 sheet of Takab
The 1:100000 sheet of Takab is part of the Takab geological quadrangle that located between 47 to 47 30' eastern longitudes and 36 to 36 30' northern latitudes. The area is part of the Sanandaj-Sirjan structural zone that contains schist, marble and little amphibolite, gneiss, shale, slate, phyllite, marl, Qom limestone and Pliocene conglomerate and sandstone. Qom formation forms a large badland in the area. This report is based on the mineral potential map of the Takab that produced using GIS. Basic information used in the project include geochemical data of Takab sheet, remote sensing data, airborne geomagnetic anomaly map, geology map of the Takab, and identified mines, deposits and indications. After compilation of mentioned data, the mineral potential map of the region was produced that provide a base for field prospection for minerals. Chichkolu lead-zinc indication, Ay-Qalesi lead-zinc abandoned mine, and north Arabshah silica indication are of important zones for exploration.
