   Prospecting for mineral potential of the Natanz 1:100000 sheet
  
   Abstract
   The study area belongs to the Central Iran zone and Oroumiyeh-Dokhtar magmatic belt. The area is under the influence of N- and NW-trending fault systems. One of important faults in the area is the Qom-Zefreh fault system. The area also includes several fold system. Magmatic rocks of Eocene and Oligo-Miocene are abundant in the area. They occurred in the volcano-sedimentary rocks. Mineral exploration activities in the area comprise of refractory soil exploration by GSI in the Permian-Triassic horizons, phosphate exploration, and coal exploration by Iran Steel Company.
   Lithology of the area includes a complete sequence of Precambrian Kahar formation to the Holocene deposits. Northwest of the area contains several small periodotite intrusions. These rocks are located in the Luveh Iron deposit. In the pyroclastic rocks of the Tetmaj pyrite indication, also, there are fragments of pyroxenite rocks. At whole the Natanz sheet contains 105 mineral deposits with 15 mineral commodity that their genesis is related to the sedimentary, volcanogenic, hydrothermal, and magmatic and skarn. All metallic deposits are associated with three magmatic phases of Cretaceous, Oligo-Miocene and Mio-Pliocene.
   12 mineral deposits can be considered for more studies:
   1- Luveh iron deposit
   2- Dorr lead deposit
   3- Jehaq Mn-Fe deposit
   4- Barz Coal
   5- Sartestan silica
   6- Doabi silica
   7- Kalijan industrial soil
   8- Yarand industrial soil
   9- sodic feldspare of Natanz
   10- Hasanabad zeolite
   11- Hasanabad building stone
   12- Bitend building stone
   It should be noted that the lower Cretaceous magmatism caused manganese mineralization in the limestones of the period that require more attention. Also prospecting for hidden porphyry deposits of Cu, Pb and Zn should be considered in future.
