Remote sensing assessment in the 1:100000 sheet of Natanz for identification of mineral potentials
Satellite data and related processing methods are useful tools for assessment of mineral potential on the regional scale. This report is the result of such study that conducted on the Natanz sheet. The data used in this study include the TM Landsat and KFA-1000 cosmos data (1:500000). The area is located in the Esfahan Provinces.
As the result of this study, these maps were produced: igneous structures, fractures, hydrothermal alterations, and favorable mineralized zones. After the study, a 24 Km2 wide area was defined as the favorable mineralized zone in the sheet.
Faults in the area include thrust faults that trend N45W and N85W. Secondary dextral strike slip fault trend N05E.
