Final report of mineral prospection project in the Lali-Andika region, Phase 2
Geology branch of Jahad-e Daneshgahi, Ahvaz
The study area is located between 49 to 49 05' E and 32 13' to 33 degrees N. it is located in the southwestern Zagros, 200 Km far from northeast of Ahvaz. The region had rare mineral exploration activities in the past and most of economic activities were under influence of oil and gas. This area is mountainous and high altitude.
Stratigraphy of the area is characterized by Sarvak and Asmari formations at elevations and Pabdeh and Gurpi formations at plains. Generally, the region has uniform stratigraphy in anticline and syncline structures. Hiatus is rare.
Humid seasons, large rivers, springs, and dense oak jungles, make the region suitable for human settlement.
Based on this study, the region has good potential for sedimentary (phosphate and iron) deposits and building materials and decorative stones.
