In order to indentify the mineral potentials of the Mazandaran province, a project was conducted at 1994 for mineral prospection in the province, based on the known mineral indications.
The project was including the reconnaissance survey in these regions:
- prospecting for cement raw materials in the Moraveh Tappeh area
- geological and geochemical assessment of minerals in the Sehezar valley
- mineral prospection in the east of Kiasar
This report includes the geography and geology setting of the area plus to result of exploration in each area above mentioned.
In the third region, an abandoned lead mine was studied. This mine that is located at northwest of Pashart village, includes several tunnels within crystalline limestone and red sandstones.
