Qazvin Province is located in the central part of Iran. It connects Tehran, capital of Iran, to northern and western parts. Qazvin is surrounded by Central Alborz mountain range and Ramand and Kharqan Mountains from three sides, so it is considered as a wide plain (75 km.95 km). Mountainous areas have cold winters and mild summers while lowland areas have cold winters and hot and dry summers. The lowest point of Qazvin is Tarom Sofla at 300 meters above sea level. This area reflects a different topography and landscape.
There are different natural features that attract tourists to Qazvin. For example, Lake Avan landscape is beautiful and amazing. Lake Avan at 1800 m above sea level is surrounded by four villages of "Avan", "Varin", "Zavardasht" and "Zarabad".
