Through a contract between West Khoy Systematic Exploration Project and Khak-e Khoob Consulting Engineers, the geology map of Qeris village was prepared. Mapped area is 320 Km2. Colored mélanges are abundant in the area. Rock units include ultrabasic rocks at southwest, and NW-SE trending diabase-basalt assemblages at center of the area.
Geochemical exploration was done by analyzing 100 stream-sediment samples and 17 hand specimens. The result of spectrometry, XRD, geochemical analysis, and heavy mineral study includes two anomalous zones. Fist anomaly is 50 Km2 wide and contains chromite (30 Km2), copper (5 Km2), and zinc (10 Km2). Also two areas (2 and 3 Km2) were suggested for Au and Ag exploration.
Second priorities are a 9 square kilometers wide zone offered for zinc exploration plus to a 5 Km2-zone that is suggested for gold prospection.
