Mineral exploration in the Kashmar area using satellite and airborne geophysics data
Khak-e Khoob Consulting Engineers
Based on a contract between the Mineral Exploration Program and Khak-e Khoob Consulting Engineers at 1993, a mineral exploration projects were conducted in the Kashmar, Khorasan Province, using satellite and airborne geophysics data. The aim of projects was to identify the altered and mineralized zones and assess the mineral indications and mines in the Kashmar. The corresponding regions include Kashmar 1:250000 quadrangles.
For identification the exact location of mineral indications and mines, at first the required map was prepared. Remote sensing study in the region was conducted and the mineral potentials were checked in the filed.
In the time of study, there were 10 active mines, 17 inactive mines, 21 mineral indication and 10 exploration licensees in the area. We gathered data from various sources such as GSI, Industries and Mines Organization of Khorasan, the explorational programs of the MIM and etc. after preparation the base map, four groups traveled to the determined points to check them in the field. This report includes the result of geological assessments in the visited points.
