The study area is located 56 Km away from the north of Kashmar, near the Kashmar-Neyshabur asphalt road. It is situated at 58 28' E and 35 28' N, in the Kuh-e Sorkh district of Kashmar County.
The Kashmar area in the northern border of the Lut block, falls between Taknar-Sabzevar and North Lut zones. The Chelpo area at north of Kashamr belongs to the Taknar-Sabzevar zone and includes a series of Paleogene shale, marl, sandstone and conglomerate with pyroclastic intercalations that fining upward. It seems that these rocks formed a thrust front in a foreland basin. Based on paleontology, they are middle Eocene in age. Post-Eocene oblique slip normal faulting has formed a conduit for hydrothermal fluids to relate the deep intrusive rocks with the surface. The result of this process was the Sb-As mineralization along the fractures. The width of the mineralized zone is different along the zone, but is controlled by lithology and fracture density. Toward west, the mineralized zone in widened.
