Prospection for Celestine in the cities of Ilam, Dehloran, Eyvan and Mehran
Executor: HR Parsa
After completing the project prospection for evaporates in the cities of Mehran and Dehloran (1998), an index of celestine was found in the Dehloran city that confirmed the necessity of a broad regional level exploration in the province to find locations with celestine potentials. So at 2000, the prospection plan for preliminary exploration of celestine in the province approved with 130 million Rials initial credit.
One of the problems for implementation of the project was the lack of preliminary information and resources about how to explore for the mineral. The main axis of operation was the Dehloran- Mehran evaporative formations.
In total, by the performed prospection, 7 indications were determined and 31 samples analyzed to determine the percentage and type of elements constituting the ore minerals. The samples were taken from three regions of Havyan, Shelet, and Choqagereh that contain uniform mineral deposit. More excavations were done in these regions to estimate the thickness of ore bearing zone.
Now what can be concluded is that the Celestine reserves in the province generally is granular form in some places (Havyan), but in depth there are crushed and inear reserves.
