"Preliminary Exploration and Mineral Prospection Studies of Nehbandan" is one of the exploration projects of Industries and Mines Organization of Southern Khorasan Province of which execution was given to Tehran Padir Consulting Engineers CO. based on the contract 103/85/2724 dated 85/02/02.
The first phase of the project including the paragraphs 1, 2, 3 and service explanation has been provided in chapter1.The existing reports and information were gathered and radiometry, potash distribution as well as magnetomery maps were purchased and fully studied during this phase. Geological maps (1:100,000) of the region besides its geochemical ones were digitized and then studied. The results of these studies were prepared as primary anomalies in several maps on which the continuation of the second phase exploration studies was based upon the employer's agreement.
The second phase of the project including paragraphs 5,7,8,9 and service explanation has been provided in chapter 2.In the first part of this chapter, all geological surveys conducted on the anomalies of Basiran, Deh Salm, Chah Dashi, Khoonik and Chahar Farsakh sheets(1:100,000) have been explained. In the second part, conducted geochemistry and heavy mineral sampling operation was provided and the results obtained from the analysis of geochemistry samples as well as the study of heavy mineral samples were processed and then statistically studied. In the end, these results were prepared as different maps, charts and diagrams.
Chapter 3 is the progress report of the final phase of the project. Considering the results of mineral prospection and their analyses, a region with an area of 200 km was selected on which the exploration studies of the final phase was concentrated.
Following the preparation of geological map, in the second part of the report, tectonics and geology characteristics of the region have been provided. In the third part, sampling operation as well as analysis and interpretation of the results acquired from geochemistry samples were fully defined. Finally they led to the introduction and explanation of geochemistry anomalies and heavy mineral maps and also the study of the results related to mineralized samples analysis. In economic geology part, genesis of skarn and hydrothermal ore deposits were initially discussed and then the introduced anomalies of the region along with alteration varieties were explained.
In the fifth part, all the results gained from exploration geology and geochemistry investigations were merged and summarized. Eventually, an arranged plan based on the entire findings was offered.
The results of petrography and mineralography studies, the analysis of the samples through XRD and ICP-MS methods besides the completed form of heavy mineral and geochemistry sampling have been attached to this report.
