Project of 1:25000-Scale Exploration of Lead and Zinc in Peykuh-Aveshk Zone, Tabas, Yazd
|Exploration in Peykuh-Aveshk|
Aveshk exploration zone is located at 75 km of Tabas, along Kuh-e Jamal lead and zinc mineral zone. Contract of 1:25000-Scale Pb and Zn Exploration in Peykuh-Aveshk Zone located at Tabas in Yazd Province was signed at 20 May 2006. Based on the geological-alteration map of the study area and geochemical studies, following results were obtained: - Rock units of the area include sedimentary facies of Tabas Group (Shotori and Shemshak Formations); they are mainly limestone, dolomitic limestone, dolomite and shale. - Statistical calculation, histograms and box plots indicate Pb, Zn and Ba enrichment. - Geochemical study of stream sediments is an indicator of four anomalous zones mainly located at the downstream of Aveshk and Sederakht. Identified anomalies are the halos of mentioned ore deposits and of no exploration value. Mineral grade in other anomalous zones is at the level of dominant lithologic context of the area like Shotori and Shemshak formations, so the zone is of no exploration value. - Most mineralizations are Pb and Zn mineralizations in reef limestones and dolomites of Jamal Formation, especially along NW-SE trending faults of the area. - There are some galleries for extraction in Aveshk Mineral Zones No. 1, 2. Traces of mineralization are seen along the cracks on tunnel walls. Grade in some samples is of economic value, but the grade in samples taken from Aveshk Tunnel No. 2 is not considerable. - In the four tunnels of Sederakht Mine, Pb and Zn grades are of economic value. - In general, mineralization zones of economic value are only in Aveshk Ore Deposit No. 1 and tunnels No. 2, 3 of Sederakht Ore Deposit. Other zones are of no exploration value.
