Tal-e-Eblis of Kerman did first extraction and smelting of copper.
Old workings and mining in central-eastern and northern Iran are the oldest metallurgical activities. Latest years of 7 thousands BC is the starting period of Neolithic in Iran but the Paleolithic times continued to 4000 years BC. In 1966, it was exhibited a turquoise sheep in France as the symbol of 7000 years old art of Iran. The old smelting furnaces with the slag are abundant in Alborz and Zagros Mountains plus Yazd, Kerman, Qom, Kashan, Khorasan and Sistan Va Baluchestan like Chehel Kureh copper slags and lead-zinc abandoned mines between Kharestan and Bidester of Taftan.
