  In each country, optimal utilization of available & unused capital is one of the basics for sustainable development. In this direction, revision of abandoned mines in Iran is of special importance & it is necessary to reevaluate the mines & unused capital for proper utilization & increasing profit

    2-1 abandoned mines properties
   As mentioned in the definition of abandoned mines, not all mines of Iran have been closed, because of running out of their reserves. In some of them, mineral reserves can be found. The availability of reserve is one of the most important economic properties of these mines and is considered during the process of their commissioning and re-using. Fundamentally, various reasons make contribution in closing the Iranian mines. Some of the most significant reasons are as follows;
   -Political issues; After the Islamic Revolution, most of the active mines of Iran were closed, and they are in the category of abandoned mines, now.
   -Economic issues; it is one of the main reasons of closing the mines, and principally, weakness and lack of interest in investment by investors in the mining section and also the weakness of financial abilities of miners has caused recession in the minerals market, therefore, the related mines are quickly closed. In the best conditions, if economic reserves had been exploited in the past, it would have been possible to re-exploit them in accordance with the present circumstances.
   -Weakness in mining management is one of the significant factors, which has caused the mines to be closed.
   -Fundamentally, weakness in exploration operations is a reason for lack of proper planning for mining operations of the most reserves. At last, mine is closed.
   -weakness in excavation operations and mineral processing are the reasons for closing some other mines.

   -Governmental laws issues; are the other reasons for closing the mines.
   The availability of mineral facilities is one of the other properties of these mines. Each of them is an unused asset. In case of re-opening, these stagnant assets are returned to the country financial cycle and produce economic development. A couple of examples from these facilities are as follows;
   -Roads, tunnels, railways and water are the important and compulsory facilities for commencement of mining operations; otherwise, they cost a lot for mines. It is clear that the risk of exploration operations is high; hence, it is a great barrier for investment in mining section. For this purpose, one of the biggest responsibilities of exploration experts is to conduct investors toward a direction, which has the lowest risk.
