   Atlas no.1: Tehran- Chalous

Mazandaran province with 24091 km2 area and 2602008 people is located between important roads of Iran as these roads join Mazandaran to Golestan at east and Gilan at west and Semnan at south of Iran. These roads divide to three classes: Asphalt road, railway and waterway. Mazandaran- Mashhad Asphalt road is located at east of Mazandaran and at west Asphalt roads divide to four branches:
1- Kenareh road joins to Gilan.
2- Chalous road (Kandovan) joins to Karaj and Tehran.
3- Haraz road joins Mazandaran to Tehran and is the shortest road.
4- Firouzkouh road is joined to Tehran by Veresk, these roads have important role in regional economics.
Mazandaran is the only province, which is connected to three axes of Haraz, Kandovan and Firouzkouh and three airports of Sari, Ramsar and Noshahr, create its aerial connection with other regions and global railway crosses it. Mazandaran because of its natural position maybe is the most fertile region of Iran.
Caspian sea has nutrient resources and diverse aquatics such as Caviar, also has individual characteristics for junket trip that makes it different from other regions. The most important water road is Caspian Sea that has commercial relation with Common Wealth and European countries. So many of Mazandaran cities are located beside the sea but the only important and active harbor is Bandar-e-Noshahr where every year about 100 commercial ships are freighted with more than 400000 tons goods.
