Mineral prospection in the 1:100000 sheet of Hasanabad-e Kurin
The Sheet Hasanabad-e Kurin, the study area, is located 86 Km far from southwest of Zahedan in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province, southeast Iran. The area belongs to the eastern portion of Lut block and includes 1:50000 sheets of Kurin, Qalebid, Abbasabad, and Kuh-Pirsorkhan.
We used stream sediment sampling method for geochemical studies in the area. The sampling network designed on the base of lithology, faults and topography to correlate with the weight center of drainage basins.
At whole, 413 geochemical samples were taken and analyzed for 44 elements that include La, Zn, Cr, Mn, Ba, Au, Na, S, Zr, Hg, Ag, B, As, Co, Cu Cd, Te, U, Mg, Be, K, V, P, Li, Ca, Sc, Al, Fe, Ti, Sr, Tl, Cs, Ce, Bi, Y, Th, Sn, Rb, Pb, Nb, Mo, Sb, W, Ni. Au was analyzed by Fire Assay method and the other elements with ICP-MS and ICP-AES methods.
For controlling the precision of analyses, we used Thompson control charts and calculation of relative error. The effect of lithology omitted from the enrichment index calculation by normalizing the uni-variables with median of each class.
Uni-variable and multi-variable analyses include calculation of correlation coefficients, cluster analysis, feature analysis, factorial analysis and etc.
Several maps were prepared for mentioned analyses through which 12 geochemical anomalies were introduced.
Based on the distribution of mines and deposits and executed geochemical survey, it seems that the area is important for tungsten mineralization. The control phase was done by sampling from heavy minerals and mineralized rocks that include 62 and 19 samples, respectively.
At the end, the area to the west of Holur mountain and east of Samsur plain is introduced for further studies.
