Mineral exploration in the Yahyaabad
The study area is one of the six identified geochemical anomalies in the 1:100000 sheet of Aran. The area was selected after compilation of geochemistry, heavy mineral and field data. The study area is located 40 Km away from SE of Qom, between 500429 to 509641 longitude and 3781627 to 3792094 latitudes of UTM zone 39N. Lithology of the area includes Eocene volcanics and Oligo-Miocene intrusive rocks. Geochemical, heavy mineral and mineralized samples were studied from the area. The sampling network was designed based on the drainage system, lithology, alteration and structures. Sampling density was 7-8 and 1-2 samples per square kilometer for stream sediments and heavy minerals, respectively. Total area is 25 Km2. totally, 190 geochemical samples, 47 heavy mineral samples and 24 mineralized samples were studied. These samples were analyzed for Au, As, Sb, Hg, Mo, W, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, Sn and Bi. The report contains the result of data analysis and recommended zones for further exploration.
