The aim of project was the mineral prospecting in Boushehr Province, which its geological setting is of passive continental margins where no magmatic activity exist. So metallic mineralization is controversial when we expect to the province has potential of building materials.
Two areas were studied: first the Dayer County, Kangan anticline and surrounding plain. The area has potential of building stone and industrial salt. The second area was the Kangan County, which include Asalouyeh, Nar, Gavbandi, khalfani and Kangan anticlines. Building stone is the main mineral potential where marls of Mishan, Aghajari, Gourpi and Pabdeh Formations and gypsum are next priorities. Also there is a meter thick phosphate later at the base of Gourpi formation, which is covered by thick overburden.
