Exploration project of Sistan and Baluchestan
The studied area in the framework of 1:100000 Rendan sheet is located in the Sistan and Baluchistan Province, near the city of Zahedan, in the northwest of Zahedan 1:250000 sheet. The area is location between 29 30'-30 degrees north latitude and 60-60 30' east longitude. It is including topographical 1:50000 maps of Tale-Siyah (I), Kheirabad (II), Chahchanguna (III), Kuh-e Shurshyryn (IV).
In this sheet, the stream sediment sampling method used to geochemically explore the area with a network designed with regard to factors such as lithology, faults, etc. the designed network had maximum compatibility with the center of gravity. In an area 2500 square kilometers totally 815 samples were designed to be taken, but with attention to lithology of the region, 786 samples were taken.
For 44 elements, ie La, Zn, Cr, Mn, Ba, Au, Na, S, Zr, Hg, Ag, B, As, Co, Cu Cd, Te, U, Mg, Be, K, V, P, Li, Ca, Sc, Al, Fe, Ti, Sr, Tl, Cs, Ce, Bi, Y, Th, Sn, Rb, Pb, Nb, Mo, Sb, W, Ni, underwent chemical analysis. To control carefully the result of analyses, the Thompson control charts was used to calculate the relative error. To remove the effect of lithology from the index values calculation, we normalize the values with regard to individual variables related to the median of same community. univariate and multivariate Statistical processing include the calculation of correlation coefficients, cluster analysis, feature analysis, factor analysis, etc. the results were interpreted in this way to complexes parageneses of elements were identified.
Several maps prepared for univariate analysis, factor analysis, feature analysis, and PN. Using the network estimation program for raw and enrichment index data, 7 regional geochemical anomalies were introduced.
The control Phase to identify the real anomalies was done by field studies and heavy mineral and mineralized sampling (87 and 42 samples respectively). For the heavy mineral samples processing has been carried out and Histograms were drawn.
According to this study, the area is located in the massive sulfide copper belt of Birjand-Iranshahr. Based on distribution map of mining indices, the sheet is important for providing indicators of metal, non-metallic and building materials.
