Semi-detailed gold exploration in the Zaghar, west of Tafresh (1:20000)
The study area is one of eight geochemical anomalies indentified 1:100000 sheet of Farmahin. The area was selected by compilation of geochemistry, heavy mineral, field and sampling data. It is located 5 Km away from the west of Tafresh, between 400000 to 408415 longitudes and 3831973-3842072 latitudes of UTM zone 39N. Rock units include Triassic to Eocene sedimentary rocks and Eocene-Oligocene igneous rocks. The project involves geochemical survey on the scale 1:20000 using stream sediment, heavy mineral and mineralized samples. After preparing the 1:20000 geology map of the area, a sampling network was designed for sampling, based on the drainage system, lithology, alteration, mineralized zones and tectonics. Sampling density was 2 to 5 samples per square kilometer for stream sediment samples and 1 to 2 samples per square kilometer for heavy minerals. The study area is 75 Km2.
Totally 189 stream sediment, 64 heavy mineral and 107 mineralized samples were taken and analyzed for Ba, Be, Bi, Sn, Ag, Zn, Pb, Cu, B, W, Mo, Hg, Sb, As, and Au. The result of this survey is included in the report and some locations are suggested for further studies.
