Geochemical Exploration in the Anaran Region
After identification of the study area as a gold-bearing anomaly in the regional geochemical survey, a more detailed exploration was conducted in the area. The main goals include 1- identification of Au-anomalies 2- determination of the grade of Au and associated elements, 3- explorational and economic revaluation.
The study area is located between 59 22' to 59 30' E and 32 11' to 32 16'N, at north of Dehak river. It is bounded among Sulakhan, Anaban and Mahani villages from north, Anaran and Sangan villages from east, Eslam Abad, Tejare and Dorshekof from south and Gandshekan, Fouladabad, Olang and Movadi Olya from west.
The sampling network was designed on the base of topography, drainage basin, fault system, and alteration. Sampling density is 2 to 6 samples per square kilometers. At whole, 163 geochemical and 64 heavy mineral samples were taken and analyzed. The analysis of samples was done in the laboratory of GSI.
Rock units include intrusive bodies such as dioritic gabbro, diabase, spilitic lava, sedimentary rocks such as sandstone, red marl, green marl, listvenite, and acidic altered dykes. The structure of the area follows the NW-trending faults. Mineralization is related to the dioritic gabbro and hematitic veinlets. Maximum observed gold grade was 7 milligrams per ton. This area has week gold mineralization.
