This sheet is located in Khorasan province at longitudes 59? to 59?30'E and latitudes 31? to 31?30' N.
In this region the igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary lithology units related to Precambrian to Neogene have outcropped. The oldest unit is Precambrian (chert-bearing crystalline limestone, mica schist and para amphibole schist) that outcrops as a narrow zone in the northeast of the sheet.
In this sheet, 635 geochemical samples were taken and analyzed for 21 elements of Co, Sc, Cd, Y, V, Cr, Ni, Mn, Sr, Ba, Au, As, Sb, Bi, Hg, Cu, Pb, Mo, Sn, Ag, Zn. In the statistical calculations, firstly statistical parameters related to raw data were calculated, after that lithology homogenized communities were separated and each one was normalized in proportion to the mean values of the same community for obtaining the values of elements' enrichment index for every sample and then enrichment index data was normalized. By means of monovariable and multivariable statistical techniques like elements' correlation coefficient, cluster analysis and factor analysis, the data was analyzed and monovariable maps were drawn using network estimation technique for enrichment index data.
Areas introduced in geochemical and heavy mineral methods as anomalous areas were merged and as a result 28 regions were introduced as final anomalous areas. In addition, some information was presented in the form of 36 geochemical maps.
The anomalous areas have been referred to below:
Anomaly 1- located in northeast of Dehsalm sheet with lithologies of phylite, sleet, schist and metamorphosed sand stone along with pegmatitic veins of anomalies W, Mo and Hg.
Anomaly 2- located in southwest of anomaly 1 in garnet- andalusite schists, pyritic siliceous veins and tourmaline pegmatite with anomalies of Sr, Sb, Ag and Zn together with minerals of magnetite, hematite, ilmenite, chromite, garnet, pyroxene, etc.
Anomaly 3- located in north of Dehsalm sheet (1:50000) in schist and sandstone with quartzic veins and anomalies of Sn, Bi and Au.
Anomaly 4- located in northwest of Dehsalm sheet (1:50000) in schist and sandstone with quartzic veins and anomalies of Mo, Sb, Ag, Bi and W. Minerals of magnetite, ilmenite, hematite, chromite, garnet and, etc. have been observed in this area.
Anomaly 5- located in south of anomaly 3 in Shomal-e Dehsalm sheet (1:50000) in sandstone, andalusite schist and quartzic veins with the anomalous elements of Ag and W and heavy minerals like magnetite, hematite, chromite, garnet, pyroxene, etc.
Anomaly 6- located in east of Shomal-e Dehsalm sheet (1:50000) in tourmaline pegmatite, metamorphic sandstone, garnet schist, sleet, phylite and granite with anomalous elements of Pb, Ba, Sb, Ag, As and Y and heavy minerals like magnetite, hematite, ilmenite, chromite, garnet, etc.
