The study area is located 35Km south of Semnan Province. The area is 500 sq. km wide with coordination of 53 30-53 54E and 35 25-35 38N. The aim of project is to identify sulfate layers in the Alaf mine area. Sodium sulfate layers in the area have been made in association to gypsum and mud within the quaternary sediments.
In the mine area, the mineral layer that contains gypsum and sodium sulfate is 6m thick. Other surrounding districts didn’t show interest potential. At now, the Alaf Mine is an abandoned mine.
