Dolomite exploration in the Hamedan Province
Two areas selected for dolomite exploration, one of them is located in the north-northeast of Nahavand county, between 48 22' 30" to 48 27' 30" eastern longitudes and 34 12' 30' to 34 15' northern latitudes and the Barudab between 48 22' to 48 23' 30" eastern longitudes and 34 16' to 34 18' northern latitudes. The exploration activity in these areas involves geological mapping, field visit, sampling, and geochemical analysis for identification of raw material and its application in various industries.
Considering the lithology of the area and geochemical data, the Barudab area was divided into three sections, based on the quality of dolomite. The geochemical data show a low MgO content for all of samples. Section C has relatively suitable condition and can be considered as a favorable zone.
The geochemical data of the Cheshmedoie area show a good MgO content for the samples that correlate with the standards of dolomite consumption in agriculture and industry. This area requires further studies.
