Processing and interpretation of airborne geomagnetic data in the 1:100000 sheet of Alut

Considering the importance of airborne geophysical data in mineral exploration, these data were used for regional exploration of Alut 1:100000 sheet. After studying and interpretation of Alut sheet, for controlling the geophysical anomalous zones, a team was traveled to the area. In this work we also used the geological map of Alut and Geochemical report of Alut.
The Alut sheet is located in the 1:250000 quadrangle of Mahabad that is part of the Khoy-Mahabad structural zone. The lithology of the area mainly consists of gneiss, mica schist and amphibolite of Precambrian. The existence of slate and low grade green phyllite rocks similar to the Kahar formation pressurized this assumption that these rocks are those volcano-sedimentary rocks associated with the Kahar formation.
The main fault system in the region is N-S and NW-SE trending strike slip faults that control the metamorphism of the area. The Precambrian metamorphic rocks emplaced over the Cretaceous rocks by thrust faulting. These are also a series of ring structures in the area related to the Mesozoic and Tertiary igneous activity.
After studying the geomagnetic data in the 1:100000 sheet of Alut, several zones were introduced for further work.
