Kurdistan Geotourism Atlas
Kurdistan is adjacent to the eastern side of Iraq. It is located in the slope of Zagros Mountain Range. Kurdistan is bounded on north by West Azarbaijan and Zanjan, on east by Hamedan and Zanjan, on south by Kermanshan and on west by Iraq.
Kurditan is exposed to cold and warm weather and has different climates. In springs and summers it is mild and in winters it is cold and snowy. 6 months of the year is fine for industry and tourism in Sanandaj (Center of Kurdistan).
There are different rivers in Kurdistan due to its natural and climatic position. Beautiful landscape and amusement places (places for swimming and fishing) are the merits of water flows and rivers. Sirvan and Baned Rivers run through Iraq and Qezel Ozan joins Caspian Sea. Important rivers in Kurdistan are Ab Darreh Kubkar, Ab Raqjou, Ab Sirvan, Ab Galin, Ab Line, Asavaleh Roud, Irab, Ab Cheshmidar, etc.
