East Azarbaijan Geotourism Atlas
East Azarbaijan is in northwestern Iran. Aras River forms its northern boundary with Azerbaijan, Armenia and Nakhichevan, Qotur River and Lake Urmia forms its western boundary with West Azarbaijan, and Darrehrud Valley, Sabalan Mountains and Saeen Pass forms its eastern boundary with Ardebil.
It is affected by Mediterranean Currents from west and southwest and by Siberian Cold weather from north.
East Azarbaiajn climate changes continuously. It is divided into two climatic zones: Cold and mild. Cold zone include Sahand Mountain and Tabriz & Marand cities that are under the effect of humid winds.
