Sangroud mine is located 7 kilometers away from the east of Sangroud village, in the coordination of 49.40E and 36.41N. The ore mineral is kaolinite, which its alumina content amounts to 52%. The higher-grade ore has lighter color, which comprises diaspore and boehmite.
The mine contains an iron-bearing zone including limonite and hematite. At depth, it is appeared sulfur zone that contains pyrite and marcasite. The iron-bearing zone has variable position. Somewhere, there is a pyrolite refractory layer, a meter thick, before the iron-bearing zone. It contains some nodules whose diameters vary between 2 and 6mm. below the pyrolite layer, there is a pure refractory layer and below it, another layer contains marcasite and pyrite.
