The area is located at 120 to 130 kilometers northwest of Bandar Abbas, 185 kilometers southeast of Sirjan and 2 kilometers north of Tangeh- Zagh tunnel. The deposit is 58 kilometers far from Haji Abad.
The study area is a portion of southeastern Zagros Mountains. The outcropping formations include: salt dome which is the oldest unit injecting into younger formations, Khaneh- Kat, Marmar, Bangestan group, Darian, Fahlian, Gurpi, Jahrom, Razak, Several iron bearing lenses and layers can be observed in dolomitic Limestones belonging to Jahrom or Razak Formations at their contact with salt plug next to the mentioned main fault. The thickness of lenses decreases by the distance to the salt plugs, number of lenses varies among 6 to 12.
They are 50-120 meters high, 5-100 meters wide and 20-50 meters deep. The ore reserve was estimated to be 30000000 tons, although it is reported to be 3268000 tons of proved ore and 5987000 tons of probable ore in Parsin commercial company exploration permit and 6000000 tons of probable reserve in Hossein Behizadeh’s exploration permits. The ore minerals include hematite, limonite and oligist occurring in dolomitic Limestones, conglomerates, gypsum and salt host rocks. Fe grade is reported to be about 50% in Behizadeh’s exploration permit and 75% in Parsin commercial company’s exploration permit. The conducted activities include1918 cubic meters of trenches, 140 meters of tunnels equal to 560 cubic meters I volume, 30 meters of exploratory shafts and 273 meters of bore holes.
Maximum reported probable ore (30000000 tons), suitable grade of ore, wide mineralization and numerous ore bearing lenses suggested new more detailed studies. For better understanding of the mineralization, field studies and preliminary systematic sampling must be launched.
