   Mafic composition
Subject: Geology
See Basaltic composition. Reference: Tarbouk, E.J. & F.K. Lutgens, (2006), EARTH, 8th edition, Pearson Education International.

   Magma
Subject: Geology
Molten rock under the ground (often containing crystals and dissolved gases). Molten rock is called magma while it is still underground, but it becomes lava when it reaches the surface of the Earth. Reference: Skinner B.J., S.C.Porter & J.Park (2004), DYNAMIC EARTH, 5th edition, Jon Wiley & Sons.

   magma
Subject: The Earth
A mobile silica melt, which can contain suspended crystals and dissolved gases. Igneous rocks are considered to have formed from magma through solidification and related processes.

   Magma mixing
Subject: Geology
The process of altering the composition of a magma through the mixing of material from another magma body. Reference: Tarbouk, E.J. & F.K. Lutgens, (2006), EARTH, 8th edition, Pearson Education International.

   Magmatic differentiation
Subject: Geology
The process of generating more than one rock type from a single magma. Reference: Tarbouk, E.J. & F.K. Lutgens, (2006), EARTH, 8th edition, Pearson Education International.
