Latian dam reservoir landslide was occurred on March, 2006 at a distance of about 500 meters from the dam axis, at the eastern part of the dam reservoir. In addition to, the losses sustained to the Latian-Kalan road and the buildings existed on the sliding slope, some materials were entered into the reservoir. Considering the location of landslide and the volume of rock materials involved, it is necessary to investigate the mechanism of sliding and the related parameters. Therefore, field investigations and borehole drilling were employed to obtain required data for landslide analysis. Then two dimensional model of landslide were drawn using Slide software and the most probable types of landslide were analyzed. Result of the analysis indicated a composite (translational-rotational) slide for the slope, which was based on the safety factor obtained and the geotechnical characteristics of the slope. The most important parameter causing instability in the slope was; increased in the water table due to raised water level in the dam reservoir and increased precipitation intensity.
